Week 3 -The Hotel Room
Playblast Of The Room:
Today I have been working on the bathroom, I started looking at where I can place the sink, shower and toilet. This is the first time I have modeled something like this and I have enjoyed to model something new. I found the taps was the hardest thing to model because they have so much designs and bends in the taps I had to work from an image on Google. I think that The bathroom looks really good and I'm happy to keep it and work on certain models a bit more. After Chris has seen the model via my blog, I can then see what he likes what He thinks needs work and what we can keep.

Week 3-Film Blast (block out)
After I looked at the previous block out of the room I decided to do another block out but this time, I will work into the objects once I'm happy where there placed. I worked on this for a day and Chris done a quick play blast for our presentation for lush. I am now going to consecrate on the bathroom because its the main room where the advert is taking place.

Week 2-Storyboards/Funisher ideas
My storyboards are my idea of what I thought would be happening in the scene. Chris has also done his own view on what happens in this scene with his storyboards.
Chris came up with the story of having the bellboy go in to the hotel room and put the pages into the bedroom, The wealthy women looks in the room finds it messy and storms off into the bath room, where she shes the package. The butterfly's open up the gift and then your presented with the bath products from lush. Then the butterfly's and bubbles fill the room, making it smell fresh and the soap tides up the hotel room. The wealthy women then looks around the corner to see the room changing.

After we spoke about we begun our ideas, but after talking to Dan Dali our other tutor, he then had said that lush is to clean your body and not a household project so maybe having the wealthy women pick up the soap and smell the product. Then she hears the ocean/ snap shot of a visual ocean scene. So that's why I have done another part of a storyboard so it can have a different ending, if the other ending doesn't fit in with the product.
Since I will be doing the hotel room modelling and texture I have been looking at the main things that I will be working on since the audience will be viewing these on screen the most.

- I firstly thought of having a corner round bath because when I spoke to the 3D production group, they had said they wanted the room simple, modern but also luxury.
- The bed idea was to be plain and modern, I really wanted to have a four poster because to me that spells out rich so I have combined the two ideas and come up with iron bars/boards instead of using a four poster bed. I think the decorative designs on the iron bars makes the bed look rich and modern. Because the bed is one of the most important thing in a hotel room, everything flex's on the bed, so the bed has to look rich and modern by using the cross between bed boards, design with decorations.
- When I was thinking of modeling a toilet I really needed to draw out loads of angles of the toilet because I thought its seems easy to build a toilet in Maya8, but then when I begun to draw out the images I realised that there is loads of equipment surrounding a toilet that I didn't account for.
- They 3D product designs had given be an image on what they wanted the sink to look like, it was very plain so I thought of drawing my own sink because its very simple and also the square base makes it easier to have the present on the side.

Week 2-ideas
I was talking with Chris and we had could up with a few ideas, we both went away and begun to sketch out loads of different ideas for the packaging, soap and the hotel.
A sketch of a girl character design, looking at possible ideas, but when looking at Chris ideas, I think we will go with his because they are really good ideas and have great personalities (bellboy):
A few drawing of a hotel room, quick ideas that I drew out to show Chris my ideas:
A birds eye view of what a hotel from could look like:
This was some cut out from mags and books of textures we could use for our present package, I picked these because they looked like the paper lush sell in there shop.
A quick drawing of the square colour of the lush soaps and the idea of making them round to put into the pot?
A couple of ideas on the style or pattern on the pot, I took the idea of the lush web-site of having patterns over there candle design, so using that idea, having a pot with a lid. Having decoration on and around the pot, that someone would want to keep.
A quick Step by Step plan on the product opening, we had the idea of having butterfly's flying from the product then them opening the present to refill, the pretty box and the character opens the container to see the lush soap.
I went on the Internet and the lush shop to get some ideas on packaging. I did a few quick drawing to show Chris some ideas I had and seen. I like the idea of a birthday present design, so I was mainly looking at wrapping paper with bows. The other idea was when you open the package you will find a lovely pot that you can re-fill after the product is finished. I got the idea from listening to the product designers, when they said about having a re-fill able pot.

Week 1-Packaging
Above are the packages from the lush shop, with its creative soap design they have tried to match the soap to the packaging by making it colourful and a bit crazy. I find the soap and packaging both creative and I think that people would the the product because of its quines.
Me and Chris have thought of the packaging idea for the soap lush. The 3D product group haven't replied to our messages yet, but we are sticking to the idea of having the product in a hotel and the idea of packaging. We have come up with the idea of having the soap in a box package. Lush the shop raps up there soaps in gift boxes, which looks like presents so we had the thought of having a butterfly rapping paper that comes to live and the butterfly's fly across the room, then unties the bow on the package to relieve the re-usable lush package box, then when the person opens the box then the character will present the soap from lush.
Since we haven't heard from the other group yet me and Chris have started using our ideas and have begun sketching the packaging/soaps and also having ideas for the hotel room. We were thinking of having us in a hotel doing it in live action mixed with 3D animation, but now we are thinking of building the hotel room in 3D, because it would be easier to do the filming were if we were in a hotel room the hotel its self might not let us film. So for now I'm going to be sketching room ideas and packaging to get an idea of what we can do, also for our presentation to the 3D product designers we have loads of ideas we can discuss. Hopefully by next week we might have made contact with the other group so me and Chris can then finalize some of our ideas.

Week 1
The shop of lush. I went to the shop in Bromley and got a few images to show what type of designs they do, I also got some other images of the shop from the lush web-site at www.lush.com. I find there soap really interesting to look at and there handmade production with a huge imagination gives the product a name of its own, because there isn't any adverts for lust, it helps me and Chris to have more of an open mind to create a good animation for lust because we have nothing to work from previous adverts. I have been looking at the adverts on television to get ideas of how we can use colour and animation in a live action advert to produce some interesting adverts for the lust.
